El Salvador Bourbon
We are pleased to add our newest coffee offering from the beautiful land of El Salvador! Our friends at Forest Flame Coffees have done it again, bringing us this wonderful semi- washed process Bourbon from producer Juan Carlos Gregg
Gregg is a fourth-generation Salvadoran coffee producer and agronomist associated with several farms in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec region. His family history in coffee goes back to his grandfather, and he has been particularly focused on improving quality while maintaining environmentally responsible farming practices.
Generally, a semi-washed/washed-style process sits between a traditional washed coffee and a honey/natural in terms of how much fruit/mucilage remains during drying.
It's a traditional Salvadoran Bourbon from a historically recognized farm, but processed in a way that lets the sweetness and fruit character of the Bourbon remain present without pushing the coffee into natural-process territory.
