Brazil - Honey Red Bourbon
Brazil is well-known for their huge coffee plantations, similar to corn fields found in the United States. Brazil is one of the world's largest coffee producers, providing a third of the world's supply.
Our latest Brazilian offering is produced by Maria Helena Siqueira, in the state of Minas Gerais, in a region known as Mantiqueira de Minas. Maria Helena and her son have been farming coffee in this region with a centuries-old tradition in coffee growing. At altitudes between 900 and 1500 meters, it has a different terroir, due to the climate and environment, favorable to the production of specialty coffees.
Coffee growing is in its fourth or fifth generation, demonstrating the regional potential and the preservation of man in the countryside.
In the heartwarming hills of Sul de Minas, Brazil, where the smell of freshly ground coffee hangs in the air, Maria Helena and her son, Lauro Siqueira shine as passionate coffee farmers who supply exceptional quality coffee. Maria Helena has handed the tradition of producing specialty coffee since a very young age. Their dedication to the art of coffee growing has not only enriched the taste of their coffee, but also inspired their community in Brazil.
We've found this processed coffee to have smooth caramel, rich cocoa, hints of blood orange, and sweetness of molasses. Per usual, this honey processed Brazil delivers those well rounded chocolaty, nutty, sweet notes with hints of citrus. We suggest brewing at 203-205 degrees at a 1/16 ratio. Great as a pour-over or french press.
